I am a freelance sports and music journalist based in Sunderland, having moved to the North East from Kent to pursue a degree in Sports Journalism.
In my final year of my degree I began to develop a pre-existing interest in football fan culture and expanded this into world sport for my dissertation style project. This five piece project opened my eyes to the possibilities of sport culture writing and my long term goal is to forge a career writing about these topics on a regular basis.
This series of articles was shortlisted by the NCTJ in their 2019 Awards For Excellence in the sports journalism category.
Originally writing on a personal blog, I have had bylines across a number of platforms including the Morning Star, Sunderland Echo, Hartlepool Gazette, Shields Gazette, Non League Paper, Spotlight Music UK, KentSportsNews and more, the latter of which I became football editor.
I have been in in both editorial and contributing roles in a professional role whilst also having experience of video journalism, podcasting as well as live and pre recorded radio.
